Frequently Asked Questions and Relevant Documents

Guild Constitution and Bylaws (Currently unavailable)

Many questions can possibly be answered by reading out Constitution and Bylaws, an important document that lays out our objectives, responsibilities, and rules the Guild abides by.

We won't update the document often but if any major changes are amended, we will give notice for all members to review the latest version.

Our schedule calendar will serve as a basis of understanding for our expectations of the Guild's semester activities. Some dates and times may vary from their original position as listed on the calendar.

Q: Can I join if I don't have any game development experience?

A: Yes because you don't need it! Most people have skills that are already helpful for game development, even if they don't realize it. We'll help you utilize your skills and learn the few things you'll need to develop games.

Q: Is there something for me to do if I can't program?

A: Many of our members also don't know any programming, and they don't need to: Writers, audio engineers, animators, and artists of all kinds have jobs they can do to help the development process.

Q: Can I still join the Guild even if I can't attend all the meetings?

A: Yes, yes, absolutely yes! No one is required to attend all of our meetings (we understand that there are scheduling conflicts) so we've tried to make it easy for members to work from home, either through Discord or the Guild email.

Q: I have more questions, so how can I contact the Guild?

A: Our Guild email and link to the Discord channel are in the website's footer. You can also message us directly on the 'Contact' page, Tweet us on Twitter, or send a courier pigeon* to PCC West addressed to the 'Game Developers Guild'.

*The Guild retains no responsibility in the case that courier pigeons are adopted as our new mascot and kept in a shrine for good fortune and prosperity.
